Mail Art: Recycled Tags for Art Journaling

July’s Art Swap was to make three tags for an art journal, the theme being ‘Rainbow’. I recycled some tags that are usually pinned to new clothes. I painted and collaged both sides and added a few beads and stamps.

One morning I opened my back door and there was a parcel sitting on the doorstep. My swap partner Tiana from Texas completely spoilt me and sent me lots of goodies beside tags – a texas badge, a card, packet of Lupin seeds and 2 packets of peanut brittle. I felt like it was my birthday and she was so generous.

I enjoy receiving Mail Art, no-one seems to write letters these days.  It makes a pleasant change to receive some art work in my letterbox instead of junk mail and bills.

I love the idea of using tags from clothes. I have always thrown them away. But not anymore! Thanks for the idea. Beautiful tags and your pal was so friendly and generous to send so many treats.

Very nice. You’re right, no one writes and mails things anymore… :/

Thanks for sharing and linking up at Dishing It & Digging It. We enjoy seeing your creativity each week! 🙂
